二、工作项目JD

Mergers & Acquisitions 企业兼并与收购项目

Interns are expected to work on identifying synergies and challenges in target companies in specified by Manager. Interns are expected to understand the commercial activities of the companies and where they overlap or complement each other (either product, geographical or production process).

Specific Task: Interns are required to write a report on the potential for a successful merger of 2 identified companies with a clear opinion on whether they feel the merger will be positive or negative to one or both companies. This will focus on reviewing the commercial activities of both companies. Word, Excel and PowerPoint outputs are needed.

Private Wealth Management 私人资产管理项目

Interns are expected to research assets, within specified asset classes, to assist in designing a portfolio for High Net Worth Individuals. The HNWIs will be at different points of their life and with different risk appetites, therefore interns MUST develop or have an open mind to match the clients’ requirements.

Assets may be multi-currency / multi-country; therefore, a global understanding of assets will need to be quickly developed.

Specific Task: Interns are expected to be given a profile of a HNWI with future requirements and current and expected assets. Interns will be required to research assets and strategies to help the client achieve their future lifestyle. A clear explanation of choices is need and will need to be presented in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Crypto Currency 投行加密数字组合项目

Interns are expected to explain Blockchain and its applications to the investor community who need education for consideration of investment in a Crypto Currency Fund.

Interns are expected to clearly explain how the technology works and how it is a rival to standard money. In addition, they are will research if such funds are permitted in China and if any Chinese companies are developing Crypto Currencies. A strong understanding of Chinese Government Policy in this area must be researched and presented. Word, Excel and PowerPoint outputs are needed.

Specific Task: Analyse the existing currencies and determine their strengths and weaknesses. Also analyse against Chinese government policy on crypto currencies to see what the short-term challenges are. Thirdly, consider if Blockchain can help ‘Belt Road’ Policy of China.

Global Capital Markets，Regulatory Programme 银行市场监管项目

1. Introduction to European Banking Regulations. Global Banking Trading Operations practice overviews. The impact of regulations on its operating model.

2. Regulation work stream analysis. Simple business modelling of impact of rules on test trades, conducting financial due diligence and writing proposals.

3. Deep dive Global Bank Equities Trading overview. Market segmentation analysis and the ways of monitoring and settling trades.

4. Conducting individual market analysis and preparing a client report.

Property Investment 地产投资项目

Interns are expected to research price increase, rental income in cities in UK and China to calculate and make presentations on risk and return.

A full understanding of historical prices in China and UK cities will be required along with the creation of a model to demonstrate total costs of investment (taxes, certificates etc) which will affect the total return over a 10-year period.

Specific Task: UK investors wish to understand where the best investment options are in China outside of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and how to achieve returns on a Price and Rental Income basis. Also, interns will analyse Tier 2 cities in the UK for comparison returns.

Clear opinions and conclusions on investment choices applied to risk appetite are expected. Word, Excel and PowerPoint outputs are needed.

Renewable Energy 新能源项目

Interns are expected to research alternative energy methods and their advantages and problems in integrating into UK energy system. This can include Wind, Solar and Waste Energy generating units.

Interns are expected to understand the basic technology and commercial process by which inputs are sourced and end product is sold into the UK energy market.

Specific Task: A full end to end process in diagrammatic form is expected along with a clear explanation of pricing process in the UK to the National Grid. Word, Excel and PowerPoint outputs are needed. This may include building from new or buying existing assets where research is required to located genuine business opportunities.

CNH – CNY Foreign Exchange 外汇交易与管制项目

Interns are expected to work on explaining how this works in theory and practise. Projects have included trade of physical goods from UK to China and China to UK.

Interns/PTA are expected to create functional flowcharts with examples to allow UK finance and trade professionals to fully understand how both trades work.

Specific Task: To calculate the Currency Flows for a UK to China trade of physical products and explain all required documentation to a UK client when dealing with a Chinese buyer. Most UK businessmen dealing with China do not have this knowledge and need to be educated professionally.

From this platform Interns will be allocated a specific trade which will include transportation, duties and tax research for a full cost trade. This will be presented in Excel and PowerPoint.

Derivatives Products in China 金融衍生品项目

Interns are expected to work on researching what Financial derivative products are available in China and the possibility of Western investors using them to gain exposure to Chinese market.

Interns are expected to research and list all derivative products and determine how to create a portfolio of derivatives to give exposure to different underlying asset classes.

Specific Task:To create an exposure to a particular market sector dependent on Client requirements.

Different risk profiles (High, Medium and Low) scenarios are expected to be created.

This will be presented in Excel and PowerPoint, with live links (or weblinks) to market data for valuation and pricing.

Creating an Ethical Asset Portfolio in China and East Asia 建立针对中国及东南亚市场投资组合项目

Interns are expected to research companies which meet Western ethical standards to be classified as Sustainable and Responsible Investments (SRI).

Interns are expected to research and list all qualifying companies by researching Western standards and determine how to create a portfolio of companies. Key data such as Revenue, Profit, Costs, Equity prices and historical volatility over a 2-year period are expected to be presented clearly and professionally.

Comparisons with equivalent Western companies in report and data form must be completed.

This will be presented in Excel and Word, with live links (or weblinks) to market data for valuation and pricing.

Specific Task: To create an exposure either by identifying single stocks to create a bespoke portfolio or researching Investment Funds which meet this requirement. Potential investments must be open to the general public to buy, no private companies or closed Private Equity funds are permitted.
